Psychological therapists are an essential part of the HPFT team. We employ all sorts of psychological therapies staff and offer lots of opportunities to train and qualify as psychological professionals, including training opportunities for those who want to take their next career steps within psychological therapies. We have strong links with our local university and offer many opportunities to keep learning and extending your skills- which is why we are such a fantastic place to start and progress your career.

We’re always here for our social workers, wherever you are on your career path. Join us and you’ll receive professional supervision, attend peer-led reflective groups and be supported as you develop your knowledge and professional leadership skills.
We can offer a range of CPD opportunities to become a Practice Educator, a Best Interests Assessor or an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP). In Hertfordshire HPFT is also a member of a multiagency Social Work Teaching Partnership (linked with the Tavistock & Portman and the University of Hertfordshire) which aims to provide high quality training for students and qualified social workers You can also develop your practice and knowledge around mental health specific interventions through a variety of accredited courses supported by HPFT.
Join us and work in community mental health services, inpatient and rehab teams, wellbeing teams, crisis services, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, services for older people, or one of our other specialist teams.
